 | The Girl of Ink and Stars | Set on a mysterious island a tribe(?) is governed by a relatively benign-seeming autocrat. However people occasionally disappear, especially if they venture into the unmapped half of the island where mythical beasts are said to roam. Anyway, the mapmakers daughter's friend (the governor's daughter) goes missing and she joins the rescue party, hoping also to help her father who has been captured. | Hmmm, quite good. Story OK, writing OK, didn't add up to great though. Still, it won lots of awards so maybe I am missing something. |
